Neurofeedback is a comprehensive training system that promotes change at the cellular level of the brain, and empowers a person to use his or her mind as a tool for healing. Neurofeedback is direct training of the brain, which learns to function with greater control and stability. Neurofeedback is based on the electrical activity of the brain, known as the encephalogram, or EEG. We observe the brain in action , moment to moment. We show what we observe back to the person, and we reward the brain for changing it's activity to more appropriate patterns.
This is a gradual learning process. It applies to any aspect of brain function that we can measure.
Neurofeedback is training in self-regulation. Self regulation is a necessary part of good brain function. Self-regulation training allows the central nervous system to function better.
